2010 C.L.I.M.E.
If you are passionate about Christian service, are looking for a new way to serve the Lord, and are between the ages of 16 and 23, CLIME may be just what you’re looking for. An eight week long summer ministry opportunity, CLIME (Christian Leadership in Ministry Excellence) aims to both equip and facilitate opportunities for team members to gather many skills and employ each of them throughout the summer. Team members are trained in canoeing, kayaking, how to lead games and develop new ones, lifeguarding, CPR, as well as how to lead a child to Christ and prepare and deliver Bible lessons. CLIME members possess an extremely wide variety of talents, abilities, and passions but are united by their desire to serve the Lord and love our campers.
The CLIME team makes up the core of our summer camp staff, therefore team members are used in true leadership roles. Through the program we focus on our relationship with God and developing a servant’s heart through prayer and Bible study. We will help you to see ways you can minister to your peer group, and have impacting relationships with both campers and other staff.
The C.L.I.M.E. program for 2010 will run for 8 weeks beginning on June 18th. This will allow for a week of training and planning before campers arrive. Day Camp will begin on June 28th and end July 16th. Residential camp, including 2 weeks of junior camp (ages 7-12) and 2 weeks of teen camp (ages 12-17) will begin on July 18th. C.L.I.M.E. officially ends August 14th.
Raising Mission Support
C.L.I.M.E. is designed to be a summer missions opportunity. There is no cost for the program. However, participants needing funds for tuition or living expenses may raise mission support. Don’t think that’s for you? Consider some benefits of raising your support:
In a very real way it is an opportunity for you to support the ministry of Pine Brook Camp. Money that would be used for salaries stays in the program where it can benefit the campers. We are able to keep camp affordable for families as well as offer scholarships for those in need.
The entire summer is aimed at giving you experience and preparing you for future ministry. Many organizations require that their employees raise money either for the ministry or for a salary. Summer mission support gives that experience and helps eliminate the fear many face in raising money.
There are four more personal reasons to raise support:
1. It involves your friends, family, and church community in your life and what God has called you to do.
2. It helps your supporter or future supporters recognize your commitment and faithfulness to God’s work.
3. It develops a network of prayer partners concerned for you and God’s call on your life. Many of whom will continue to uphold you in prayer long after the summer is done.
4. It gives you an opportunity to exercise your faith and obedience to God's call on your life.
