2010 C.L.I.M.E.

Overview

2010 C.L.I.M.E.

If you are passionate about Christian service, are looking for a new way to serve the Lord, and are between the ages of 16 and 23, CLIME may be just what you’re looking for. An eight week long summer ministry opportunity, CLIME (Christian Leadership in Ministry Excellence) aims to both equip and facilitate opportunities for team members to gather many skills and employ each of them throughout the summer. Team members are trained in canoeing, kayaking, how to lead games and develop new ones, lifeguarding, CPR, as well as how to lead a child to Christ and prepare and deliver Bible lessons. CLIME members possess an extremely wide variety of talents, abilities, and passions but are united by their desire to serve the Lord and love our campers.

The CLIME team makes up the core of our summer camp staff, therefore team members are used in true leadership roles. Through the program we focus on our relationship with God and developing a servant’s heart through prayer and Bible study. We will help you to see ways you can minister to your peer group, and have impacting relationships with both campers and other staff.

The C.L.I.M.E. program for 2010 will run for 8 weeks beginning on June 18th. This will allow for a week of training and planning before campers arrive. Day Camp will begin on June 28th and end July 16th. Residential camp, including 2 weeks of junior camp (ages 7-12) and 2 weeks of teen camp (ages 12-17) will begin on July 18th. C.L.I.M.E. officially ends August 14th.

Raising Mission Support

C.L.I.M.E. is designed to be a summer missions opportunity. There is no cost for the program. However, participants needing funds for tuition or living expenses may raise mission support. Don’t think that’s for you? Consider some benefits of raising your support:

In a very real way it is an opportunity for you to support the ministry of Pine Brook Camp. Money that would be used for salaries stays in the program where it can benefit the campers. We are able to keep camp affordable for families as well as offer scholarships for those in need.

The entire summer is aimed at giving you experience and preparing you for future ministry. Many organizations require that their employees raise money either for the ministry or for a salary. Summer mission support gives that experience and helps eliminate the fear many face in raising money.

There are four more personal reasons to raise support:

1. It involves your friends, family, and church community in your life and what God has called you to do.

2. It helps your supporter or future supporters recognize your commitment and faithfulness to God’s work.

3. It develops a network of prayer partners concerned for you and God’s call on your life. Many of whom will continue to uphold you in prayer long after the summer is done.

4. It gives you an opportunity to exercise your faith and obedience to God's call on your life.

Testimonials

"The CLIME program is one of the best instructive leadership programs I have ever been involved with. I went into this program not thinking my quiet leadership skills were useful. But as the summer progressed, I found myself showing more qualities of Christian leadership. This program boosts your self esteem and really gives you confidence. It also trains you to handle responsibilities diligently. This program has also enhanced my walk with the Lord. I saw God's presence every day and now I am spiritually stronger for things God has planned for me. This program isn’t easy, but it’s not supposed to be easy. I learned how to work through the thick and thin of ministry work and now I am a changed person from it." - Lauren

"How do I put into words an experience that brings you closer to God, trains you to be a leader and a follower, gives you organization and planning skills, teaches you in real time how to function as a body- and build each other up, gives an abundance of opportunities to live and share what you believe, shapes you into a focused disciple and follower of Christ, gives you lifelong friends that are there for you no matter what, and a really nice T-shirt... in short changes your life forever? You cannot! You can only experience it for yourselves and witness the transformation in the lives of those called the C.L.I.M.E. Team. This summer drastically changed my preconceptions of the body of Christ, leadership, and ministry. Suddenly THE BODY OF CHRIST is not just the people you see every Sunday, but the people who build you up and travel with you day by day on the road to Christ-likeness. People who have problems - who need you to look out for them, and who are there for you when you stumble and fall. LEADERSHIP is really servant hood in disguise! It’s washing dirty dishes and scrubbing floors and making cookies and scrubbing toilets even when you don’t have to. I found that the best leaders are servants first. MINISTRY isn't a job anymore, it’s a way of life - seen in the way you treat those who are around you and how you love those who aren't lovely. C.L.I.M.E. is a life changing experience - it’s not all fun and games and ice cream it’s tears and falling and messing up. But it is so worth it! Because not only does CLIME show you your weaknesses - where you stumble and fall, but it shows you something even more vital - how to get back up and run the race that Christ has set before you... and bring as many along with you as you can." -Sara

"God helped me this summer to be more like Him. I found myself praying....while in the shower or running down to the swimming hole or waiting to use the bathroom or brushing my teeth. I honestly spent every minute thinking about, "Is this what God would have me to do?" Granted I was not perfect, but I could feel God holding me in His hand. I made relationships that will last forever. These people were the inspiration for me to live a better life, and were very encouraging. This was by far the best summer of my life. I will never forget being on the CLIME team as long as I live. It made such an impact on my life....how could I ever forget it…" - Meggan

"Along with growing spiritually, I made 9 new brothers and sisters so-to-speak. My fellow C.L.I.M.E. members were great, and I feel like I can tell any one of them anything, and I could trust them with it. I am so thankful to Pine Brook Camp for giving me the opportunity to work on this program, and most of all, I am thankful that God used the camp to get my life back on track with Him." - Tony

"This past summer that I spent at camp was the only way that I could have spent my summer and actually enjoyed it, because that was the plan that God had for me. I learned a lot about how to work as a true team memberothers, and how to also be a leader. I was able to make new friends that will last for my life. It was possibly the best summer I have ever had, learning to serve God and others, while also having a part in leading. I thank the staff that I worked with, and Jesus, for making the camp possible." - Lee

"The experience of the C.L.I.M.E. program is an amazing one to say the least. God worked through so many areas in my own heart and really made Himself evident throughout the entire camp season. We saw so many children and teenagers come to accept or rededicate their lives to the Lord, it was truly a great summer. I hope to pursue a career in Camping Ministries in the future and the experience I have gained by working at Pine Brook on the C.L.I.M.E. team is absolutely invaluable. The staff and all of our team members were all so giving of their time and though it takes a lot to give up an entire summer...I don’t regret it for a second." -Ben
