What is FUSION?

Over the years we have often struggled with finding ways to get young people plugged into the local church. Many of our campers do not have families that are committed to attending a good church, therefore, it’s been challenging to help them connect and feel a part of a community.

Committing to a relationship with Christ, as some of our campers did this summer, is just the beginning. There is a process of growing in that relationship and allowing Christ to mold and shape you into His image. We have been burdened with the fact that so many of our campers come into a relationship with Christ, but that we have had such a limited outreach to help them grow in this relationship.

This process of Discipleship is what we as Christ followers are called to do.

Matthew 28:18-20 says, Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

Not only are we to share the Gospel, but we are to make disciples. We are to help people grow in their walk with Christ. We are to help them learn how to think Biblically, how to pray and how to study the Scriptures. We need to invite them into fellowship with a community of Christians so they have accountability, encouragement and the opportunity for growth and service.

This burden shaped our vision for what we now call Fusion Fellowship. Fusion is a place where adults and young people can come together to be encouraged and grow in their relationship with Christ. It is a place where the older invest in the younger while still being challenged and invested themselves. It is a unique place where the focus is reaching and discipling young people. It is not a typical “youth group” as you may think. It is a blending of generations from young to old with the focus being on “encouraging our youth.” It is a place where you see teens and adults sitting at a table enjoying a meal together, sharing stories and discussing issues and life with one another. Later that same evening you may see them competing in some kind of fun game or activity that is specifically designed to break down barriers and allow opportunities to build friendships. As the evening progresses participants are engaged in a time of teaching from the Word and challenged to live it out in real life!

Fusion Fellowship is a snapshot of everything that makes Pine Brook such a special place. We meet every other Saturday night- and you too are invited!

OUR VISION:

  • To bring the relationships, fun and spiritual growth from camp into the rest of the year.

  • To offer an opportunity for connecting with friends, experiencing fun games and activities, enjoying good food!

  • A way of being encouraged in your walk with God and grow in your faith.

  • To provide a place of acceptance that helps each person grow to be all that God desires.

  • To provide a safe place to ask questions, discover truths, express feelings and help one another grow, mature and discover God’s plan for their life.

OUR EXPECTATION:

  • Our desire is to keep Fusion fresh, unique and special.

  • We foresee meeting a couple of times a month to start.

  • We envision day trips, evening gatherings and perhaps some community service projects.

  • We envision small groups of people connecting and getting together for special events and activities.

  • We see a program that places value on coming together and serving one another as well as others.

WHO CAN COME:  Anyone!!!   This is primarily for teens, college age, young adults, and adults.  This is a multigenerational group with the idea of mentoring through the generations.  Kids under 12 must be accompanied by a parent.

We invite all of you to come out and join us and catch the vision that is FUSION!
